Located within the Sahara Desert, the M’zab Valley’s 360,000 denizens have little to turn to in terms of heat relief. But while dry in a geographical sense, the valley is rich in culture and how its inhabitants have adapted to the environment. So impressive was their adaptation that UNESCO dubbed M’zab a World Heritage Site in 1982.
