Steep inclines, fatal declines, and narrow, zig-zagging, railing-less to boot — meet the seven most treacherous paths in the world:
The Most Treacherous Paths: Yungas Road, Bolivia
Better known as the Road of Death where approximately 300 travelers are killed each year, Yungas Road tops the list of the most treacherous paths in the world. Located in Bolivia and connecting the Amazon rainforest to the capital city, it’s a winding path that reaches a height of 15,260 feet and descends to 3,900 feet.
Most of the road is no wider than 10 feet and navigation is made worse by loose rocks, muddy tracks and visibility issues during poor weather conditions.
