Making History Technicolor

While black and white photographs often add potency to an image, some of the most iconic and memorable images in history seem to be underscored by their dual-toned coloring. Though the shades of grey give these images their classic status, Swedish artist Sanna Dullaway took up the challenge to show what they would look like in color.

Sanna’s series features iconic images throughout history including portraits of Abraham Lincoln, Che Guevara, Albert Einstein, Mark Twain, Anne Frank, Charlie Chaplin, and iconic events including the VJ-Day in Times Square, the Battle of Gettysburg, the Burning Monk and the Attack on Pearl Harbor.
